Herman is a long time member of HRCC having moved to Sebring in 1996 from Ohio. In earlier times, Herm built and flew free flight models. He progressed to early RC in the 1950's and used rudder only control.
He paired up with Jim Messer in the late 1990's to build a fleet of 1/4 scale and larger scale models as designed by Jim Messer. Herman was instrumental in developing the present HRCC field with golf link quality runways. He was awarded an appreciation plaque in December 2014 to honor his large contribution to HRCC.
